Forced setup of multi-factor authentification for an user

Last modified by Sabrina V. on 2025/02/18 09:23

When enforcing multi-factor authentication, the administrator specifies that members of a particular group must configure the authentication factor the next time they log in to the ACMP Console. To do this, the administrator defines the necessary steps (see Manage groups, section Multi-factor authentication) that are required for the enforcement.

When the user tries to log in to the console as usual, after entering the username and password, they are led to a wizard that guides them through the configuration. Here they are first informed about the general reasons for the new authentication and how future logins will look. Clicking Next > takes the user to the second page.

Under Helpful Information, an individual text for the user is displayed, which you could put together in the step „Manage groups: Multi-factor authentication. If you do not make any changes to the text, a generally valid text with a reference to the online help is displayed. By clicking the Next > button, the work continues.

To set up two-factor authentication, the same steps are now required as if a user were to set up authentication themselves via the account menu. Follow the steps in the Add authentication factor section.

Hinweis  Note:

If the user needs help when logging in again, they will find a link (‘I need help’) in the multi-factor authentification window, where the text from the wizard of the ‘Helpful Information’ page is displayed.
