General

Client Management is used to logically structure your clients and permissions within ACMP. It allows you to organize clients, tenants, and tenant groups so that different teams or locations can view or manage only their respective areas.

Overview of the Tenant Plugin

Managing Tenants

To use multi tenancy, you must first create tenants and tenant groups. These tenants must always be created within a tenant group and cannot be created at the root level. To provide an overview of your company and authorization structure, tenants can be organized hierarchically within tenant groups.

Hinweis  Note:

Tenants cannot be created without a tenant group. Tenants or groups with the same name at the same level are not permitted.

Creating and Using Tenant Groups

To use the Client plugin correctly and create individual tenants, you must first create at least one tenant group.

If you have already created groups, you can rename them or move them using drag-and-drop, provided there is no entry with the same name at the destination level.

Proceed as follows:

1. Navigate to System > Clients and click Add in the ribbon bar under Tenant Groups. A wizard will open.

Adding the tenant group

2. Click Next.

3. On the next page, choose which icon to use for the tenant group. Then click Finish.

In addition to adding tenant groups, you can also edit and delete them in the ribbon bar.

Hinweis  Note:

When a tenant group is deleted, the tenants it contains are deleted.

The Clients contained in the deleted tenants can then be found again in the „Unassigned Clients“ tab in the workspace.

Create Tenants

1. Select an existing tenant group or create a new one first.

2. Click Add Tenants on the ribbon bar. A wizard will open.

3. Enter a name and, if desired, a description.

Hinweis  Note:

The shortcuts you create on this page are static. If you would like to use dynamic shortcuts instead, click Next. If you want to use both static and dynamic Client links in your tenants, you should create the static shortcuts first.

4. On the next page, you can optionally create client assignments. Using the Add Client icon, you can access your queries from Query Management and statically link clients. Select the appropriate query and click Next. Now select the clients you want to statically link to the new tenant.

Select Tenants

5. Click Done to confirm.

Hinweis  Note:

If you have selected clients that are already linked to tenants, they will be displayed in a new window. Here, you will also be asked if you would like to change the tenants associated with these tenants.

6. If you use dynamic filters, a result preview will be displayed in the next step before the mappings are saved.

Delete a Client

Deleting a client removes all client mappings to that client. It will then appear in the “Unassigned Clients” tab.

In addition, all elements assigned to that client (e.g., containers, scheduled reports, maintenance windows, etc.) as well as the Kiosk configuration will be removed.

Hinweis  Note:

If you want to delete a tenant but not the elements associated with it, you should first assign those elements to another tenant or convert them to global elements.

If you still wish to delete this tenant, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Tenants > Client Workspace and select the tenant you want to delete.
  2. In the ribbon bar, navigate to Tenants > Delete.
  3. A checkbox will appear informing you of the implications of deleting a tenant.
  4. Confirm the deletion by clicking OK.

Unassigned Clients

All clients on your network that are not assigned to a tenant are listed in the tab of the same name.

To assign them:

  1. Select the clients you want to assign.
  2. Click Assign to a Tenant on the ribbon bar.
  3. Select the target tenant and confirm by clicking OK.

Hinweis  Note:

These mappings are static.

Start Recalc

Starting Recalc will calculate all dynamic Client links, e.g., following rule changes or the addition of new Clients.

Conflicts

A conflict occurs when a client would be assigned to multiple clients due to dynamic filters. ACMP does not automatically assign such clients but lists them in the “Conflicts” tab for resolution. You will only see conflicts if multi tenancy is enabled.

The tab then displays all clients that cause conflicts due to the filters you’ve created and therefore cannot be dynamically assigned to a tenant.

You can resolve the conflicts by either

  • customizing your filters for the tenants or
  • performing a static assignment: Enable the checkbox next to the client and click Assign a Tenant on the ribbon bar.

Now that you have organized your clients into tenant groups and clients, resolved all conflicts, and set up user permissions, the next step is to activate multi tenancy.
