Answer files
An answer file is an automated configuration file that enables a standardized Rollout without manual input.
Answer files contain predefined installation parameters for this purpose.
An answer file is one of the four required components that must be stored in ACMP OS Deployment for a full Rollout.

Add an answer file
To create a response file, go to the Operating System section in the ribbon bar and click Add.
A wizard will open. On the first page, specify the output directory where the file should be saved, as well as the name and, if applicable, a description.
Click Next > to proceed to the second page. Here you can specify how you want to add the answer file: You can either generate an answer file automatically or import an existing .xml file.
If you want to generate an answer file, you must specify the operating system and OS architecture.
Click Next >.

Add an answer files
On the third page, configure the regional settings.
Click Next >.

Select your country settings
On the next page, enter information about partitioning. Choose one of the following options:
Create new partitions | All existing partitions will be deleted and new ones created. |
Keep the existing partition | All existing partitions will be preserved and will not be formatted. |
Execute the DiskPart script | Here, you can open a DiskPart script or manually enter commands in the provided field. ![]() Included DiskPart script On the next page, specify the partition where the installation should take place. ![]() Selecting the partition |
Advanced Partitioning | The partitioning is created without any further configuration so that you can configure it using the advanced edit function in the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK). |
After partitioning, configure domain joining if necessary. To do so, enter the FQDN of your domain. The OU is optional.
Finally, click Done.
Once the data has been processed, you will see the name, description, and associated operating system for each response file in the workspace.
